The palate is quite textural with lime curd, preserved lemon, green apple and pink grapefruit. Skin phenolics add complexity and mouthfeel. A very drinkable young Riesling. Lots of floral notes and complex fruit on the palate, a great value aromatic white.
The grapes are harvested during the cooler temperatures at night and gently pressed and the juice settled in tank. The crystal clear juice is racked off lees before a cool ferment (approximately 13°C) to allow maximum flavour retention. Once fermentation is complete, the winemaking approach is as minimal as possible, with the finished blend being lightly fined and bottled early to preserve freshness. Gentle handling is key for the preservation of pure fruit flavours and individual vineyard characteristics. The result is a clean and pure style of wine that will drink well in its youth, but also develop incredible honeyed, toasty characters over the next 8-12 years.
