A brightly aromatic wine offering great clarity of varietal character. Spiced cinnamon pear, honeydew melon, guava, salted lemon, yellow nectarine and hazelnut all intermingle elegantly on the nose. The palate further shows the ripe fleshy fruit flavours of pear, nectarine and melon along with nougat, & a buttery note which is kept in check by saline minerality from the natural acidity. The finish is long and citrus driven, whilst also savoury, nutty and compelling.
100% Estate grown from our Forest Grove vineyard. 50% of the Fiano grapes were whole bunch pressed straight to barrel and underwent barrel fermentation in aged oak, followed by four months on lees during which it underwent bâtonnage to enhance the natural texture. The remaining portion was fermented in tank resulting in a brightly fruited, clean blending component which was also aged on yeast lees with stirring.
