Gnangara is an Aboriginal word, the meaning and origin of which is not known, although possibly meaning ‘spring’. The Gnangara wines derive their name from the lake and related aquifer that fed the original Gnangara Shiraz vineyards in the Swan Valley and is a source of drinking water for Perth.
The original Gnangara wines had a purity of fruit expression and flavour impact never before seen in Western Australian wines due to the ability to blend select parcels of fruit from vineyards across WA.
Wines with the Gnangara name have now been made for 45 consecutive years and have returned to the style that made them an Australian favourite.
