The fruit was machine harvested in the cool of the night to retain flavor and freshness. Fermentation on skins in static fermenters lasted eight days. Following fermentation, the wine was gently pressed off skins and then spent 8 months maturation on oak before select parcels were blended and prepared for bottling.
This wine is brilliant bright red with a crimson hue. The nose is intensely aromatic, displaying fruit characters of plum, red berry fruits, fruit cake, cigar box and mocha. Flavoursome and generous, the juicy palate displays plum, red berry fruit, and liqourice with hints of vanilla spice. Fine chalky tannins and soft acid lend structure and length.
